A documentary work that explores aging in the LGBT community through candid interviews with seniors conducted in various parades during the celebrations of June Pride Month in New York City. The work offers an intimate portrait of LGBT older adults who speak about their experiences, and lives while voicing their opinions on gay culture, the liberation movement, and getting old in a youth oriented society.

Filmmaker-New Media artist, Hector Canonge, director of the award wining shorts “Go Boys!,” “Fear,” and the experimental “Ecoscapes,” turns his lavender lens to capture the insightful accounts and commentaries of LGBT older adults.

The program includes the presentation of the multimedia narrative project "Lavander Ink," a visual narrative created by Canonge with the participation of SAGE\Queens members, and the introduction of the literary zine "rozine," featuring the writings of lesbian and gay elders from Queens.

Following the presentations, join us for a Q&A panel with the filmmaker, participant writers, and John M. Nagel, director of SAGE, Queens.
